“Our girls have come on in leaps and bounds since they started with Linton Seals. The small groups mean that they have more one-to-one time with the teachers. They make sure that each pupil has the basic skills right before moving on to the next level. Kirsten also genuinely care about each pupil and make each lesson fun as well as instructive. I can’t imagine a better start for children’s swimming journey. ” - Elaine H

Can my child swim with a cold?Passion and confidence in the water is best built up through seeking to ensure positive, enjoyable experiences every time. Heavy colds / blocked sinuses can make it more difficult to control breathing when swimming. We therefore recommend that when it is likely to affect their enjoyment of the water, children do not swim.

How long after vomiting / Diarrhoea can my child swim?In general, you should wait at least 48 hours from your child's last symptom to swim. If, however, your child has a confirmed case of Cryptosporidium, then they should not swim for 14 days from the last symptom. These timeframes are designed to stop the spread of these illnesses.

Can my child swim with chicken pox?Although we generally follow the same recommendations as schools / other childcare settings on when to return following illness, we ask that when a child has chicken pox, they do not return until the scabs have fallen off. This is because they have a propensity to fall off in the water which could be unpleasant for the child and other swimmers. If your child has chicken pox, it is worth letting us know at the earliest opportunity as our medical policy may become applicable. Please see below for further information.

My child won't be able to attend their lessons for a while due to medical reasons, what should I do?There may be an operation scheduled, a broken bone or some other reason, but if that is the case, please talk to us. We have a medical policy which provides that if your child cannot attend for 3 or more sessions from the point at which you notify us for a medical reason, then we will credit the length of the absence minus one session for admin / holding your child's space. That way you can focus on supporting your child and there is no pressure for them to return before they are ready to.
