Question: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Answer: A swimming teacher
It's funny how I knew then what would bring me the most joy. Although my declaration was only recently rediscovered in my parent's loft and I spent some time pursuing a very different career path, I have never been far from the water whether that was learning to swim myself, diving, Rookie lifesaving, competitive swimming, coaching, waterpolo, teaching.
I have now been teaching to one degree or another for 20 years - things have changed a lot in that time - but I am constantly learning more and still love getting to know and working creatively with each child as an individual to grow and succeed in the water.
